Therapy in the Gorge: Day Treament & Residential for Youth

  • Crisis Psychiatric Care (Subacute)?Short-term residential care (usually less than two weeks) and 24-hour access to mental health professionals for children with urgent mental health crises. Kerr works to stabilize children in crisis, provide effective mental health treatment and ultimately return the child to their home or a less intense level of care.

    Family Resource Center?A place for families in our community raising a child with mental health and behavioral challenges to find support, answers to questions and gather for activities and events.

    Intensive-Community Based Treatment?Services for children ages 3 to 17 at risk of being unable to stay in their home or in school due to mental health challenges. In addition to help building connections within the community to develop long-term stability, the family receives home-based therapy, skills training and a 24-hour helpline.

  • Located on 300 beautiful acres outside of Corvallis, Oregon, the campus provides children with opportunities to experience healthy, therapeutic activities such as recreation, equine and canine therapy and cottage-style living surrounded by expansive green spaces.   • The Christie School, established in 1953, has become Oregon?s oldest and largest residential treatment centers for emotionally disturbed children. It offers several different treatment programs to children with emotional and behavioral difficulties, with 80 children and youth currently living at the Christie School. The school?s treatment programs address such emotional and behavioral difficulties such as aggression, abuse, including self-abuse, suicidal/psychotic behavior, inappropriate sexual behavior, depression, unpredictability, runaway threat, and/or a history of fire- setting.
