Job Description:
URS is one of the world's leading engineering and environmental consultants, offering professional planning, engineering and architectural design, environmental, construction and programme and construction management services. PMCM is a new Sector Business in the UK focused on helping clients deliver their capital programmes more efficiently. As well as providing the full range of project, programme and construction management service PMCM will play a key role in mobilising and coordinating the activities of fully integrated URS multi discipline design teams and technical specialists. We are currently recruiting for a Head of Project Management/Senior Project Manager, who will be at the heart of the growth strategy of the newly created PMCM business. As well as leading large complex projects the Head of Project Management/Senior Project Manager will play a key role in the creation of a world class project and programme management function and will be part of the PMCM senior leadership team. Key features of this senior leadership role are: ? Leading large complex projects; ? Playing a key role in the development of a leading UK PMCM capability; ? Oversight of all project delivery; ? Recruitment and development of key project management staff; ? Supporting the identification, implementation and on-going development of a world class programme/project management system; ? Implementation of continual improvement processes; ? Developing and growing excellent client relationships ? Leading a team of project managers ? Negotiating contract extensions ? Working with the Business Development Organisation to produce high quality bids and proposals & win work at interview ? Leading ?off project? strategic initiatives to develop people and the PMCM service offering ? Delivering against business financial targets You will need relevant professional qualifications in a construction industry related discipline, as well as having significant experience of delivering complex projects and programmes with either a project management consultant or a construction management organisation. You will have an excellent track record of leading programmes of complex inter-dependent projects, as well as experience of large complex projects with construction values over ?100m. Experience of manufacturing, industrial, oil & gas, or central government sectors is highly desirable and good contractual and commercial knowledge and skills are essential. You will have a good understanding of Risk Management, Commercial Management, Stakeholder Management and programming, as well as strong business financial management skills. Grade and salary offered will be dependent on experience of the successful candidate.
