Woman accused of tainting orange juice at Starbucks

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) ? A California woman faces attempted murder charges after police say she tried to sneak orange juice bottles spiked with a lethal amount of rubbing alcohol inside a Starbucks.

San Jose Police arrested Ramineh Behbehanian, 50, late Monday. A customer reported seeing the woman take two bottles of orange juice from her bag and place them in an open-air refrigerated display case at a Starbucks in San Jose around 3:45 p.m., Sgt. Jason Dwyer said Tuesday.

When the customer told a store manager what he saw, Behbehanian fled. A store employee followed Behbehanian to the parking lot and jotted down her license plate number as she drove off. Other employees called 911 after noticing the bottles had a toxic smell, Dwyer said.

Firefighters on the scene tested the contents and determined that the bottles contained a "lethal quantity" of isopropyl rubbing alcohol mixed with the juice, Dwyer said.

No one drank from the bottles, said Dwyer, who praised the customer's quick actions.

"This person was heads-up enough and reported suspicious activity," Dwyer said. "I think that person saved lives by doing that."

Officers tracked down Behbehanian Monday night at her San Jose home located about five miles away from the store. She was placed into custody on suspicion of attempted murder and felony poisoning, Dwyer said.

Police are still looking for a motive.

"We don't know if she has done this before or if she had plans to do this again," Dwyer said. "We have no reason to believe that there are other coffee shops with similar dangers."

Dwyer declined to say how much rubbing alcohol was actually in the bottles, but he said it was sufficient for police to charge Behbehanian with attempted murder.

The Starbucks store in San Jose was closed after Monday's incident but reopened the next morning, Starbucks spokesman Zack Hutson said Tuesday.

"We're immensely grateful to the vigilant customer who immediately did the right thing by notifying our store partners who immediately pulled the juice from the shelves and quickly notified the authorities," Hutson said.

As a precaution, Hutson said that the Starbucks store in San Jose pulled all of its remaining juices from the open-air refrigerator and destroyed them. Other Starbucks nearby were also alerted and told to check all their juice bottles to make sure none of its seals were broken.

Behbehanian could make her first appearance in court as soon as Thursday, authorities said.

Palestinian killed in Gaza by targeted Israeli airstrike

GAZA (Reuters) - An Israeli airstrike killed a Palestinian and wounded another in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, medics said, in the first targeted attack against militants since a ceasefire ended an eight-day war in November.

An Israeli government spokesman said the military had hit a "jihadi who was an expert in manufacturing rockets".

He added that the man had "played a role" in a rocket attack from Egypt's Sinai peninsula against Israel's Red Sea resort of Eilat on April 17, which had caused no damage or injuries.

Locals in Gaza named the dead man as Haitham Al-Mes-hal, 29, saying he was hit while riding a motorcycle in the north of the enclave. He was believed to be a member of Hamas's national security force, but relatives said he also belonged to a militant Jihadist Salafi organization.

Islamist militants in Gaza have fired intermittently at Israel in the past weeks despite an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire reached after the November conflict.

Hamas, an Islamist group close to the Muslim Brotherhood now ruling neighboring Egypt, has cracked down on hardline Salafist rivals it sees as jeopardizing its control of the Gaza Strip.

It was not immediately clear if Tuesday's strike would unleash a renewed round of violence. The attack came just two days after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had warned of a strong response to sporadic rocket fire into Israel.

In an unrelated incident on Tuesday in the nearby occupied West Bank, a Palestinian killed a settler in the first such incident since 2011.

Jamie Allpress - A Day in the Life of a Dealer in Antiques | The ...

Jamie Allpress, Allpress Antiques, Malvern, Victoria photo courtesy Johnston Collection, Melbourne

It?s been a busy weekend, especially this one past, the Melbourne Antiques Fair has been on, very different from my usual weekend when we are involved with family gatherings, friends? luncheons, 40 and 50ths and riding and skateboarding with the kids.

On Monday?s I generally walk into my shop at Malvern in Melbourne, often feeling tired, battered and bruised, but then I am instantly surrounded by relaxing, exciting, classic and modern beauty. Being greeted by one of my beautiful staff too, always with a smile on their face and a calm, relaxing voice, is a happy experience. I?m so lucky ? coming into work always makes me feel good, I love my work and adore antiques. I check my phone messages, usually none, which ensures a smile on my face because it means I have some space at the beginning of the week to catch up on what?s been happening.

After morning tea I often have an 11am appointment. Today it is advising a couple on how to downsize as they are moving into an apartment one-third the size of the home they have been living in for 30 years. They have an interesting collection of furniture, ceramics and books they need to sort through with me to help them make decisions about what to keep and what to let go.

Every piece has memories attached and so has its very poignant. They have a certain destination, whether it is a particular antique dealer or a specific collector, various specialist auction houses and occasionally, just occasionally, the odd piece for me.

A George III English oak dresser base displayed with a work by Bill Henson, courtesy of the artist and Allpress Antiques, Malvern Victoria

Every now and then my long-term customers receive a nice surprise, something they purchased in the 1970s, say an English oak dresser that broke their bank at $500 is now retailing for between $20,000 to $30,000. These experiences make my business very satisfying.

The next day, on my way in to the shop, I have an appointment to advise on placing furniture and art with a leading decorator in a wonderful home that is still a blank canvas.

The interior of this 19th-century home has been redefined and modernized tastefully, generally just by using the right paints and flooring ? it?s exciting

The visits to this home will be many incorporating my ideas, the decorator?s ideas and the customer?s idea. However it soon takes shape and we always end up with the most wonderfully decorated home interior.

A late Georgian oak tri-pod pedestal table. The circular top is mounted on a "birdcage" device which allows it to rotate, on a bold baluster turned pillar. This table is 18th Century in form, but the spur on the knees of the legs is a feature more typical of the first half of the 19th Century and suggests a later date. Reference: 'English Country Furniture' by David Knell, Page 248 - Photo Page 341 courtesy Allpress Antiques, Malvern Victoria

When I return to the shop, I drop into my restoration and conservation workshop at the rear and go over the pieces that need to be completed that week, whether it?s a customer?s table or my latest international shipment destined for refreshment before taking up its place in the showroom.

This part of the business is also satisfying; like those who enjoy digging in the garden, working with your hands colouring, polishing or waxing can be like therapy and I really enjoy it.

In this case, it?s an incredible 18th century English oak dresser. I check the progress, sometimes spending some time myself doing a couple of hours? colouring.

Some weeks ago, a recognizable AFL footballer in Melbourne entered the shop; his passion for antiques and the arts it seems were equivalent to mine. He longs to be shown a different way of life, a possible lead to a new career in the years to come.

Today is his first day of work experience with and by chance I am also quoting on some repairs at the Spanish Consulate.

We recently completed a dozen pieces for the consulate, including a 16th century carved Spanish icon. Repairing pieces such as these is very rewarding.

As often happens with international shipping, a lot of damage has been suffered during the journey and so I take him through, describing each piece and the repairs required as my new friend takes notes.

He still visits on his one day off each week and I always try to find something exciting to include him in; he, too, enjoys my customers and the interesting daily routine of the shop, where all sorts of people with stories to tell drop by.

We recently had a young man named Josh come for work experience from RMIT for two weeks. He had a passion for anything old and antique, so we enjoyed teaching him some basics ? once again a rewarding experience.

When we make a sale in the shop it is usually quite enjoyable for both the customer and myself. Nine times out of ten the price is mentioned; haggling is not one of my favourite things. Usually a piece sells itself.

Talking about the continual enjoyment of having the piece in their home, the comments they will receive from friends and family, who will ask, ?where did you get this is often the best way to go. How it will stand out among the often-modern surrounding d?cor and finish the room, entrance, etc becomes evident when it is delivered.

It?s always good to suggest that we try the piece in situ before concluding the sale, whether its furniture or art. If the customer is happy that the piece marries well with all his or her other possessions then it will more than likely stay and find a good home.

Dealers are funny about this sort of thing. They like their pieces to find good homes where they are treated well and then, if there is ever a problem, in years to come they might return and be recycled once more.

These are only but a few insights into my daily life. Other than my family and friends who I love dearly, I absolutely adore the antique trade; every day is different and offers a fresh set of challenges to surmount in what is a very interesting life journey.

Google Now available on iOS devices starting today

When it comes to major news, we didn't expect to hear much from Google in the run-up to I/O, but clearly, the company just couldn't wait that long. Google Now, a service that Android users have enjoyed for a year, just became available on iOS devices in the form of an update to the Google Search app, confirming those leaked videos we saw a few weeks ago. It won't have integration with notifications or alerts at launch -- it may come in a future update, but the company wasn't willing to divulge its future plans -- so you'll need to enter the app and swipe up to refresh your list of cards. The iOS version won't have every type of card that you'll find on Android, either: boarding passes, activity summary, events, concerts, Fandango and Zillow aren't included this go-round. Improvements and additional features will likely trickle in over time, but it's certainly better than nothing for iOS fans who've looked at Jelly Bean users with a slightly jealous eye. We've included Google's blog post in its entirety below, and you can jump to More Coverage to download the app.

Intel CEO to FCC: Softbank is the best buyer for Sprint

Sprint Logo

A strange endorsement as Sprint contemplates accepting a higher bid from Dish

In a letter to chairman of the FCC Julius Genachowski, CEO of Intel Paul Otellini has expressed that he believes Softbank is a better choice than Dish to buy Sprint. Following a trip to Asia where he met with Softbank, which an Intel spokesperson refers to as "a business partner", Otellini chose to write to the FCC to encourage the company's bid for Sprint regardless of the fact that Dish is offering a higher amount. Otellini's recommendation is one based on competition, he says:

"Son-san’s vision to build a high speed competitive third national network is very compelling. We need this competition in the wireless space as the ATT/Verizon model is not giving that to consumers at this time."

No further explanation is given as to why Softbank would provide a better competitive chance for Sprint than Dish, but CEO of Softbank Masayoshi Son has proven in the past to be a bit of a mover-and-shaker in the industries his company is a part of. That may not be enough for Sprint to consider its offer, however, as the bid from Dish is still over $5 billion higher. Sprint is expecting to vote on its current deal with Softbank on June 12th.

Cat and mouse: One gene is necessary for mice to avoid predators

Apr. 29, 2013 ? When a mouse smells a cat, it instinctively avoids the feline or risks becoming dinner. How? A Northwestern University study involving olfactory receptors, which underlie the sense of smell, provides evidence that a single gene is necessary for the behavior.

A research team led by neurobiologist Thomas Bozza has shown that removing one olfactory receptor from mice can have a profound effect on their behavior. The gene, called TAAR4, encodes a receptor that responds to a chemical that is enriched in the urine of carnivores. While normal mice innately avoid the scent marks of predators, mice lacking the TAAR4 receptor do not.

The study, published April 28 in the journal Nature, reveals something new about our sense of smell: individual genes matter.

Unlike our sense of vision, much less is known about how sensory receptors contribute to the perception of smells. Color vision is generated by the cooperative action of three light-sensitive receptors found in sensory neurons in the eye. People with mutations in even one of these receptors experience color blindness.

"It is easy to understand how each of the three color receptors is important and maintained during evolution," said Bozza, an author of the paper, "but the olfactory system is much more complex."

In contrast to the three color receptors, humans have 380 olfactory receptor genes, while mice have more than 1,000. Common smells like the fragrance of coffee and perfumes typically activate many receptors.

"The general consensus in the field is that removing a single olfactory receptor gene would not have a significant effect on odor perception," said Bozza, an assistant professor of neurobiology in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences.

Bozza and his colleagues tested this assumption by genetically removing a specific subset of olfactory receptors called trace amine-associated receptors, or TAARs, in mice. Mice have 15 TAARs. One is expressed in the brain and responds to amine neurotransmitters and common drugs of abuse such as amphetamine. The other 14 are found in the nose and have been coopted to detect odors.

Bozza's group has shown that the TAARs are extremely sensitive to amines -- a class of chemicals that is ubiquitous in biological systems and is enriched in decaying materials and rotting flesh. Mice and humans typically avoid amines since they have a strongly unpleasant, fishy quality.

Bozza's team, including the paper's lead authors, postdoctoral fellow Adam Dewan and graduate student Rodrigo Pacifico, generated mice that lack all 14 olfactory TAAR genes. These mice showed no aversion to amines. In a second experiment, the researchers removed only the TAAR4 gene. TAAR4 responds selectively to phenylethylamine (PEA), an amine that is concentrated in carnivore urine. They found that mice lacking TAAR4 fail to avoid PEA, or the smell of predator cat urine, but still avoid other amines.

"It is amazing to see such a selective effect," Dewan said. "If you remove just one olfactory receptor in mice, you can affect behavior."

The TAAR genes are found in all mammals studied so far, including humans. "The fact that TAARs are highly conserved means they are likely important for survival," Bozza said.

One idea is that the TAARs may make animals very sensitive to the smell of amines. Humans may have TAAR genes to avoid rotting foods, which become enriched in amines during the decomposition process. In fact, the TAARs may relay information to a specific part of the brain that elicits innately aversive behavior in animals.

Bozza's lab has recently shown that neurons in the nose that express the TAARs connect to with a specific region of the olfactory bulb -- the part of the brain that first receives olfactory information. This suggests that the TAARs may elicit hardwired responses to amines in mice, and perhaps humans.

"We hope this work will reveal specific brain circuits that underlie instinctive behaviors in mammals," Bozza said. "Doing so will help us understand how neural circuits contribute to behavior."

Should Game Makers Worry About the Shift to Non-Gaming - Benzinga

In 2012, Yusuf Mehdi -- the man in charge of Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) interactive entertainment business -- told the Los Angeles Times that the average Xbox-owning household spends an average of 84 hours a month using Xbox Live.

While gaming continues to be a popular draw for the console, it has not become the primary reason why people turn it on.

"What we're seeing is that people are turning on the Xbox to play games and then keeping it on afterwards to get other types of entertainment," Mehdi told the Los Angeles Times.

In fact, the publication reported that consumers now spend more of their time using Xbox 360 for online video than for online gaming.

There have not been any studies confirming that the same has happened with Wii or PlayStation 3, but Sony (NYSE: SNE) proudly announced that its console had become the number-one living room device for Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) subscribers last December.

The console has been so successful in this regard that there have been times when more people turned to PS3 for Netflix than for any other platform -- including PCs and tablets.

In April, NPD DisplaySearch reported that game consoles lead the pack among TV devices that can connect to the Internet.

This is great for overall hardware appeal -- but is it good for the gaming industry?

Mehdi's statement seems to be fairly accurate. Game consoles have always been sold first to consumers who want to play games. If they only cared about non-interactive entertainment, consumers would simply subscribe to cable or buy a set-top box.

By offering a greater variety of entertainment options, the assumption is that consoles can appeal to a greater number of consumers. This is also true -- but it is not without risk.

When Sony unveiled PlayStation 4, it chose to ignore non-gaming entertainment and focus exclusively on why this is a console that gamers should buy.

In an interview with Forbes, Sony Computer Entertainment America President and CEO Jack Tretton explained why.

"If you wanna have an event to talk about multimedia capabilities, we'll proudly stand up and list all the media partners that we have, and the fact that we're the number one most used Netflix device around the world," said Tretton. "But the 3.1 million that streamed [Wednesday's event] and that stayed up at all hours depending on what country they were in, they were there to see games."

The 3.1 million viewers that he referred to were only in the United States. Worldwide, Sony's event drew more than eight million viewers.

This is the same strategy that Sony took with PSone (which sold 104 million units) and PS2 (which sold 153 million units).

When promoting PlayStation 3, Sony shifted to other things. While gaming was still a big part of the console, Sony heavily pushed the Blu-ray player that was built into every unit.

As many investors are aware, PS3 only sold 74 million units.

Similarly, Nintendo (OTC: NTDOY) tried to make up for the lack of new Wii U games by promoting a number of promising TV services. While the console sold very well last fall, Wii U ultimately flopped during the first quarter when sales plummeted more than 85 percent.

Thus, while it is acceptable (and perhaps wise) for console manufacturers to offer services beyond video games, it is best to start by satisfying the core gaming audience. If nothing else, that guarantees that at least some people will buy the device.

If the aforementioned trend continues, however -- if games are the initial draw but TV and movies keep users coming back -- it could be a problem for those who only develop games.

Activision (NASDAQ: ATVI), Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: EA), Konami (NYSE: KNM), Take-Two Interactive (NASDAQ: TTWO) and other game companies heavily rely on the success of new consoles.

Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo may get consumers in the door, but if the aforementioned developers can't keep them coming back, the industry is in trouble.

Over the past 10 years, several high-profile game publishers have fallen, including THQ, Acclaim and Midway. While it does not appear that another one is about to file for bankruptcy, there is one whose future is in question: Electronic Arts.

Between the troubled launch of the new Sim City, the closure of several Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) games, the award for 'Worst Company in America' (for the second year in a row), and the widespread layoffs, things are not looking good for EA.

What You Need to Know About Obama's Transportation Pick Anthony Foxx

President Obama nominated Anthony Foxx, the mayor of Charlotte, N.C., to replace Ray LaHood as the next transportation secretary on Monday.

Here?s what you need to know about Foxx:

It?s a smart move politically for the White House. Not only does this give the president another minority on his cabinet, but this move also boosts a rising star in the Democratic Party. Well-regarded in his state, Democratic strategists have said that Foxx, 41, could run for governor or the Senate in the coming years. He recently passed up an earlier opportunity to run for higher office when then-Gov. Bev Perdue, a Democrat, decided not to seek reelection.

Foxx had already announced three weeks ago that he would not seek another mayoral bid, saying he wanted to spend more time with his two children. ?I do not want to be a father who looks back and wishes I had spent more time with them,? he said in a statement.

This position could give Foxx further credentials for a possible run at higher office in an increasingly purple state. In 2008, the Tar Heel State voted for then-Sen. Obama, though it went red in 2012.

Since announcing a slew of white men for high-level cabinet positions in the start of his second term?including Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel?the president has nominated several women and minorities after receiving criticism. The move, however, does leave the cabinet without a high-profile Republican, like LaHood.

He?s been on the rise in North Carolina politics. Foxx was the first Democrat to get elected as the city?s mayor in 22 years. Raised by a single mother and his grandparents, he eventually went to Davidson College and became the first black student body president.

?They taught me to take pride in hard work, to take responsibility for my actions, and to understand that education could expand my mind and transform my life,? he said at the Democratic National Convention, which was hosted Charlotte.

Following Davidson, he attended law school at New York University and went into practicing law before going into politics. In 2005, he was elected to the city council. Four years later, he ran for mayor and won, becoming the city?s youngest mayor and only second African American to hold the seat.

He?s been noted for his urban planning strategy. Since coming into office nearly four years ago, Foxx has led an effort to add 13,000 new jobs to Charlotte?an accomplishment that was heavily noted when Democrats held their convention there last year. Although he doesn?t have a true transportation background, he has been in favor of several new transportation initiatives in the city, which include improving local highways, adding a runway at the airport, extending a line-rail line and bringing streetcars back to the city.

Administration officials, quoted when word of his nomination broke, said he was able to bring transportation advancements to a changing urban environment.

Prison Planet.com ? CPS Takes Child After Parents Question ...

Anthony Gucciardi
Prison Planet.com
April 28, 2013

In California, seeking a second opinion for your child might just end up in a CPS home invasion. As one couple experienced after attempting to bring their child to another medical doctor for a second opinion following failed and improper treatment of a potentially serious condition,?all it takes is one angry healthcare provider in order to lose your child to a CPS home raid.

It all started when Anna Nikolayev and her husband Alex?took a trip to?Sutter Memorial Hospital over some flu-like symptoms that their 5-month-old son was experiencing. Intended to be a visit centered around ensuring the health of their child, who?Anna says is the most important thing to her, they were met with resistance when questioning the treatment their young son was receiving. In fact, simply asking why their son was being given antibiotics, which absolutely destroys the small?amounts of beneficial gut bacteria in children, was unacceptable.

Child Dosed Up With Antibiotics for ?Flu-Like? Symptoms

Anna recounts asking a nurse why exactly the antibiotics were being given to the 5-month-old, considering that antibiotics do nothing to combat the flu (as it is viral, not bacterial). In response to the reasonable question as to why the child was on routine antibiotics, the nurse at the hospital explained she did not ?know? why antibiotics were prescribed. Later on, Anna says that a doctor confirmed that the child absolutely should not have been on antibiotics.

So what did Anna do? What any reasonable person who cares about their child would do, get the heck out of the hospital prescribing 5-month-old children antibiotics for flu-like symptoms. Before this, the Sutter Hospital doctors actually went a step further. Beyond the antibiotic dosing, they actually admitted the couple?s son Sammy into the ICU and started discussing the possibility of heart surgery. Sammy has been receiving treatment for a?heart murmur since birth.

To Anna, this was yet another step that was not explained and not making much sense. As a result, she pulled Sammy from the hospital and headed over to find a doctor at?Kaiser Permanente who could offer a second opinion.

No Second Opinion For You

Ultimately, this turned out to be a move that would end with Sammy being taken away from the couple for what may be an extremely long time. And although their case will likely be shared thousands of times and potentially lead to the CPS being under such a great degree of public fire that they are forced to return Sammy to his parents, ?we need to understand that?not everyone will receive the same attention.

Instead, it must be seriously understood that the CPS went and took this child even after the medical doctor at?Kaiser Permanente had stated: ?I do?not have concern for the safety of the child at home with his parents.?

Even police, after seeing that the child was safe, allowed the child to stay in the home ? but that was before CPS came. So why would CPS take a child from a home where his safety is not in danger? As you hear in the video, CPS acts on orders from healthcare providers.

Providers like those from?Sutter Memorial Hospital, who were improperly drugging up the child with antibiotics for no reason (at least not one they could provide) and discussing serious heart surgery. And despite what appears to be their utter malpractice, their rage that the parents left the hospital for a second opinion (and loss of serious profits) may have led to a CPS raid that you can see take place in the video above.

As Alex, the 5-month-old?s father,?recounts:

?I was pushed against the building, smacked down. I said, ?am I being placed under arrest?? He smacked me down onto the ground, yelled out, ?I think I got the keys to the house??It seems like parents have no right whatsoever.?

And he?s right, parents are increasingly losing their rights to treat their own child or even receive a second opinion from another medical doctor.

Facebook And The Sudden Wake Up About The API Economy

api branchesWhat a two weeks it’s been. Something happened that has been simmering for a while. The API market exploded. Intel bought Mashery for more than $180 million and CA acquired Layer 7. 3Scale received a new $4.5 million round of funding from Javelin Ventures. Mulesoft acquired Programmable Web. And then Facebook jumped in and bought Parse. The acquisitions and funding point to a maturing market that is reflected in the ubiquity of APIs across the application landscape. It’s not a new market by any means. The space is filled with companies that have leveraged the API build out that has happened over the past several years. Instead this is an inflection point. There are more than 30,000 APIs, according to Programmable Web, the leading API directory and blog. Javelin Ventures Managing Director Noah Doyle said to me in an interview that analysts see the API market growing five to ten times over the next five years. With that scaling in number of APIs comes a virtuous circle for the developers that build compelling apps and APIs. The APIs extend the apps reach as they become part of distributed data network. As more people use the APIs so the app developer generates more data. As the data increases in scope, often the service will become an API. Facebook needs new streams of data to keep rolling out new digital products. Back end as a service providers like Parse provide SDKs and APIs that give developers access to infrastructure for storing basic data types, locations and photos. How Facebook uses this data is a question mark. But regardless, Pare serves as a constant replenishing source, nourished by the apps on the Parse platform that use APIs. Facebook now will decide how to package and segment that data to push more relevant advertising to its 1 billion users. APIs Are Like Glue APIs will be the glue to the Internet, said Programmable Web Founder John Musser. Musser, like Doyle, sees a new generation of APIs emerging that are fueled by demand, triggered by mobile devices, which serve in many respects as the new client/servers. Apps are hosted on cloud services and distributed across mobile devices that read and write data, sending and receiving information, connecting via APIs. In the first generation, Mashery and companies like Apigee pioneered the API management space. Twitter and other web companies emerged in the second generation. In the

What do you want to see in iMore app 3.0?

What do you want to see in iMore app 3.0?

iMore for iPhone version 2.0 only just launched but we're already in the early stages of work on iMore app 3.0 and one of the very first things we wanted to do was ask you, the iMore community, what you want to see?

We'll be doing some obvious architectural things, like switching from Drupal-based authentication to our awesome new Mobile Nations Passport system, and moving things like text size selectors to a dedicated settings screen so your choice persists once you make it. But we'd love to hear from you on some of the other options.

For example, would you like to see an iPad interface? iMore is a website and the iPad has a great, full-sized web browser, so would an app version of the site really make a big difference to you? Would things like the favorites, podcasts, and tab-based sorting make your iMore-on-iPad experience better?

Search is something else that we get a lot of requests for. However, we wouldn't want to cache the entire 5+ years of iMore on your iPhone, so that means web-based search is the only practical alternative, and again, is that something that's better done in the browser?

We currently push comments off into a second screen so loading them doesn't slow down the main article, but is that convenient for you, or just one extra tap too many?

What about the iMore Forums? Right now they're in a separate app, but would it better for you if we bundled them together into one super iMore app?

What about the overall design? Is there anything we could do there to make your experience better?

iMore, Nickelfish, and everyone at Mobile Nations is dedicated to making the next version of the iMore app absolutely the best ever, so let us know -- what do you want to see?

Tyler Bray and Marcus Lattimore show opposite emotions of 2013 NFL Draft

The fortunes of Tyler Bray and Marcus Lattimore showed the ups and downs of what was a historic 2013 NFL Draft for the Southeastern Conference.

By Mark Sappenfield,?Staff writer / April 28, 2013

Running back Marcus Lattimore speaks with the media during South Carolina's NFL football pro day on this spring in Columbia, S.C.

Somehow, University of Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray ? a 6-foot-6 specimen with a cannon arm ? was not selected in the seven rounds of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Somehow, University of South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore found two knees to stand on at his pro workout earlier this spring ? enough to get him a standing ovation from the coaches and scouts present and a selection by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round.

In a draft where 63 players from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) were selected ? a record for any college football conference ? two of the SEC players who made the biggest splash on the last day of the three-day extravaganza Saturday did it for opposite reasons.

Bray was left standing at the altar. Admittedly, this was not a sterling draft for quarterbacks. But perhaps that's why he decided to leave Tennessee a year early year to go pro. According to one mock draft, NFLDraftScout.com, he was seventh best pick of the litter. In the end, he wasn't even among the 11 chosen.

It's a glimpse into a situation that plagued basketball for years. Many high school players, egos inflated by friends and hangers on, would enter the National Basketball Association draft, forgoing any college eligibility. When they were not drafted ? or drafted late and then let go ? they would be left in a limbo, not good enough to make a pro team, but not able to go to college to hone their skills.

The situation forced the NBA to institute a "one year in college" rule for all players, giving each time to assess his draft prospects with clearer eyes. The NBA has also started a developmental league akin to the baseball minor leagues to help those who fall through the cracks.

In the end, Bray was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs after the draft ? and as a junior, he had ample time to make an informed decision about his pro prospects. But the National Football League also has a Draft Advisory Board precisely for this reason. It offers undergraduate prospects an impartial assessment of where they're likely to land in the draft.

Will The Anomaly navigate a cagey transition?

It took Brock Lesnar three matches and a tumultuous year under two separate WWE contracts, but on May 19, The Anomaly may finally feel at home for the first time since returning the squared circle. That?s because at Extreme Rules, the 266-pound destroyer will face archrival Triple H inside the confines of a steel cage. While Triple H may have more experience competing in WWE cages, Lesnar has a much different perspective.

The flesh-tearing tendencies of chain-link fence might not offer Lesnar the same solace as the woodlands of Jackson Hole, Wyo., but there is little reason to believe the burly bruiser and his adviser Paul Heyman were anything but calculating in demanding Lesnar vs. Triple H III take place in a cage. ?The Beast Incarnate,? after all, saw an eight-sided cage fight or two during his eight-year sabbatical from WWE, during which he ascended the heavyweight ranks of the Ultimate Fighting Championship faster than any other competitor in the history of mixed martial arts.

Who will benefit more from the steel cage: Triple H or Brock Lesnar?

PRODUCT REVIEW: THE FACE SHOP - NATURAL SUN SMART CUSHION SPF 50 PA+++

DISCLAIMER: This product was sent to me by The Face Shop Philippines?as a gift. ?This is now available in?The Face Shop Philippines?branches in major malls all over metro manila and retails for PhP1195. (you can question me on this as far as i can recall this product is NOT MORE THAN php1300, so di sya mamahal sa 1300 pero lampas ng 1100, better yet, tanong nyo mismo sa the face shop ^_^ )
The product description is below:
A liquid type of sunscreen that enables easy application with a cushion sponge.
Just like my beloved, this, too, comes in a compact type of container
has a mirror and a rubber sponge applicator
the mirror is covered with a plastic sheet
and these things, i love the application of these rubber sponges.
there is no grain so application is smooth and without streaks
the product has a lid and below it a safety seal
as shown here below once i've peeled off the seal
this is a little less sticky than my beloved. ?this has more of a foundation feel
but it blends out well and gives my skin a nice healthy looking sheen
the directions are below.
and below are the ingredients
product description from the box
a picture of me with no flash used. ?the smart bb on the right side of my face while no product on the left side of my face.
with the flash on, the smart bb on the right side of my face while no product on the left side of my face.
and with the powder to set and some blush. ?the thing i like about most bb products is that they really make me look healthy. ?they brighten up my skin yet unlike full on foundations, you can still see my skin underneath. ?so most bb creams are like tinted veils. ?
LIKES:

DISLIKES:

  • none that i can think off except maybe the price, my my beloved costs php1950 for the compact and a refill while this is php1195 without refill.?

RECOMMENDATIONS: Apart from samples, which you know from my beloved, that it is possible for Korea to release samples for these, in the tiny little tubs and cute little 1 inch diameter sponges with 4 grams of product, this product from the face shop is a good investment for you to try if you think that shelling out 2k on my beloved is too high and for two that you may end up not liking. ?[MEANING - kahit wala pang ni-rerelease na samples ang face shop korea / ph for this smart cushion, kahit alam nating posibleng magka samples ng mga ganintong item, I RECOMMEND for you gals to try this anyway isa lang naman di gaya ng kabila 2 agad eh baka naman di nyo magustuhan, at least itong sa the face shop isa lang.]
