Nanaimo Boat Modellers will stage their annual model boat show with an extensive display of scale models ranging from clipper ships to destroyers. There will be an indoor pond with operating radio-controlled models. Children, ages six to 96 will have an opportunity to try their skill at operating a model tugboat on the pond.
Any model ship builder is welcome to enter their work for display or judging. There is a small fee for boats being judged ($3 for the first boat and $1 for each additional boat). Registration is open until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Heirloom (inherited) models will be welcome for display and/or competition. The owner will need to provide their name, address and basic information about the builder and the approximate date of construction.
This is a chance to meet some of the modellers and find out about their weekly activities where they operate their boats - both sail and power - at the Inn On Long Lake on Sunday mornings.
